The Rotary Club of McHenry Charitable Foundation, Inc (a Section 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization) presented a $1,750 check to Friends in Service Here or FISH.   These funds arose from two sources through the Club's Foundation. A sum of $750 arose from the Rotary Club of McHenry Charitable Foundation Chuck & Lois Peterson Endowment, which was established in 2012 by Chuck & Lois Peterson.  An additional $1,000 came directly from the Rotary Club of McHenry Charitable Foundation, which represent primarily proceeds from it fundraiser Blues, Brews & BBQ.

"Friends in Service Here" (FISH of McHenry – Food Pantry) makes food available to those who need it.  FISH has no paid employees; rather, everyone at FISH is a volunteer, even its directors.  For every $1 donated to FISH, FISH is able to procure approximately $8 of food for distribution through its food pantry.  Click here for the most recent FISH newsletter. In August & September 2017, FISH served 1,124 families or 3,605 individuals; the FISH team distributed more than 8,900 bags of food!

The need in our community for FISH has grown.  FISH is currently developing plans to add an expansion to its current building.  If you have an interest in sponsoring a fundraiser to benefit FISH, click here for your very own FISH fundraising kit.
